Latest (12/16) version won't let you register if you have two-factor authentication turned on for Amazon. Brilliant!

Do not install this garbage. It spawns a process called "stkLaunchAgent.sh" every time you restart that hogs your CPU endlessly and can bring your machine to a grinding halt. Worse, it just shows up in Activity Monitor as 'bash', because it's launched via a shell script. If you did install it, you can run the uninstaller found in the "Send to Kindle" folder in /Applications to get rid of it.
