I had been using Access for a long time until it quit connecting from my iPad to my Mac with both Catalina and Big Sur. It would connect immediately after my iMac restart, but once the computer screen went dark and woke up, the app would no longer connect. I contacted support who tried to fix the problem without success, at which time they said they were sending it to a higher level support team and I never heard back. I now have a service that. is paid for through June of 2021 and can’t use it.

Parallels Access isn't terribly useful since I already have TeamViewer. I've moved away from using Parallels for VMWare because I was having trouble connecting a USB SSD to a VM. While I had to use the command line, VMWare allowed me to connect the SSD to a VM and run it.

In addition to Parallels Access, you may try tools like logmein, teamviewer, R-HUB remote support servers etc. for remotely accessing computers from anywhere anytime. They work well.

I'm in the midst of testing out Parallels Access v2.1.1. One thing I can point out so far is the annoying problem with its sound driver called 'Parallels Access Sound'. It shows up and takes over in the Sound/Output & Sound/Input Preference pane. It doesn't know how to handle OS X sound adequately and ends up causing problems. The annoying problem I ran into was it killing off text-to-speech. I had everything set up and working perfectly in Dictation & Speech/Text To Speech to allow me to use a key combination to read text to me, especially useful when pouring through a pile of online articles. I had to disable Parallels Access Sound to get text-to-speech to work again. That's not acceptable. IOW: I feel like I'm paying for beta software. :-( Hopefully, v2.5 will iron out some of the crimps.
