Helios overview

Helios is a particle attraction/repulsion screen saver where "blobs" emit and receive multi-colored particles. It's difficult to describe, but as some have said about the screen saver, it's pretty insane. Helios is available in English, French, German, and Italian.

What’s new in version 2.1.1

Version 2.1.1:
  • On macOS 12.0 ("Monterey") and later, Helios will now adjust the frame rate to match the screen’s refresh rate. This means Helios now supports ProMotion and other high refresh rate screens. On earlier macOS versions, the frame rate is capped at 60 FPS.

How do you actually install this? There are no instructions on a GitHub page and there are a bunch of files with crazy extensions. Can’t the developer just post a DMG to download?

This is probably my all-time favourite. The beauty it creates, there’s not a dull moment. Ideal settings includes low speeds, small sizes, surfaces off, and voila: front seat for “cosmic creations” whenever I need to rest my eyes and mind. May it run forever...!

this is way cool. not as boring as the previous poster suggested, it has many adjustable options. At least i have something to counter Flurry which has been way over used on my end.

at first glance it looks great, but after you let the saver run for some time it becomes boring, all the Ions keep going to the same attracters, and if just stays that way, and the camera rotates a bit... it good at first, but gets boring..
