ClickToFlash for Mac

Safari 12 will not allow me to use this App. Instead it directs me to the App website for fee based extensions in an attempt to make me buy something! I am fed up with Apple attempting to control my life and decisions. If it wants to warn me that's fine but to force itself on my as gatekeeper without my permission is outrageous. I paid good money for the Mac I am using and I should be able to configure it as I wish without Apple acting as a helicopter parent. If I want to accept the risk of installing an App that should be my decision, not Apple's. Apple is NOT my parent and I am not a child! Frankly I have all but abandoned Safari anyway as Chrome increases my productivity for my work by a factor I would guess to be around 5X. As far as I am concerned Safari has one foot in the grave and is on life support.

I'm copying here what I just wrote on the Flash page, it surely will be useful to someone: Until today I thought I could not get rid of Flash because of a few video websites that were getting stuck when using ClickToFlash on Safari, showing they had not implemented html5 yet... I've just decided to try and uninstall Flash anyway and to my big surprise, those sites loaded their proprietary non-Flash player instead! So, this was just a side-effect of ClickToFlash! :-o In the end, this extension has become as useless as Flash itself. :-)

Sadly Click2Flash 3.2 isn't compatible with Safari 10 and won't be updated any longer "due to Apple’s new development policies" according to the developer.

I have faithfully used this extension for years. Recently, though, something has changed. Now, when I go to YouTube, invisible advertising begins to play in the background even though the plugin is enabled. The ad that plays is normally one for a charging station of some sort. If I uninstall this extension, I no longer have the autoplay problem. It's quite frustrating, because I'm a HUGE fan of this developer and this product. I hope this is something that can be easily fixed. Has anyone else had this issue? The one and only reason I'm giving a bad rating for this version is because of the background advertising that autoplays and I can't stop.

I used this for several years. Works fine and support is outstanding. But I have removed Flash some months ago. Most sites work without problems, on some sites I have to fake to use an iPad. Then video download can be enabled with the Media Center Safari extension. As a last resort I use Chrome with its own flash.
