ASPPPPP overview

ASPPPPP brings Aperture Science's portal technology to your desktop. Avoid carpal canal syndrome and save millions of pixels of cursor moving.

When launching the app, you first set the position of the first portal. And then move across the screen and set the second position. These positions then remain static for jumping your mouse's cursor back and forth between the two points. If you want to move the portal locations, simply hold the COMMAND key and click and drag a portal to a new location.

Lastly, just for fun, the app keeps track of how many meters of wasted mouse movement you've saved. And if you don't like meters, it measures it by school bus lengths, shower curtains or a dollar bill.

I'd be interested in a "power-saving mode". Something not animated, and very low-memory, low CPU, and taking up very little space, just tiny hot-spots that are unobtrusive. Cool idea, though. I realize you just developed it for kicks, but there's a practical utility hiding under the glitz/fun.

i have LS installed and starting ASPPPP triggered a connection warning, and my mouse was transformed to a portal which left me in a status where i could not dismiss the LS dialog. no click, no keyboard interaction with any gui element worked. took me 2 minutes until i accidentially alt-clicked and everything was normal again.

Definitely a "time saver" app with HUGE potential in my workflow. Of course the CPU cycles are a little annoying, but you GOTTA LOVE the "What's New". I'm definitely following this one. Kudos to the dev!

Excellent utility. Dragging a window through a portal works as expected, so the portals are indeed able to accommodate objects much larger than they are. The only issue I had were some graphics problems after letting go of the command key while dragging a portal, which is needed to drag one portal through the other portal.

Very cool utility for multiple, large screens. However, it eats CPU - it was constantly using 25-30% on my iMac. I'd definitely use it all the time if the developer can fix that issue.
